It struck me lately that vintage jewelry, especially family heirlooms, are quintessentially preppy - traditionally pretty and classic. The same goes for estate (previously owned) jewelry, in my opinion. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have family heirlooms, but you can, of course, get the same look in a different way.
